Signature moves
signal-lock
Hero text flickers on (0→1→.3→1 in 4 frames) while its red/cyan fringes converge from 64px to 5px.
chroma-jitter
Landed hero text never sits perfectly still: fringes wobble 0–3px.
tracking-roll
A noise band rolls down through the picture once per scene; text it crosses tears sideways.
static-cut
Scene change = 0.24s of snow with two streak bands, then the next picture.
picture-jitter
The recorded picture shifts ±1–2px every 0.085s. OSD stays rock steady.
motor-zoom
Camcorder footage slowly zooms and sways like a handheld shot.
marker-write
Handwritten lines reveal left→right in 14 stroke-steps; red checks draw after each line.
tape-counter
Counters tick in whole seconds.
Sound
Lo-fi, slightly detuned: warm Rhodes or chorus guitar, soft drum machine, tape wow & flutter (0.3–0.6%), hiss bed at −34 dB. Nostalgic, not sad.
Voice
Intimate home-video narration: close mic, warm, conversational, 120–135 wpm, slight smile. Lightly band-limit VO (200 Hz–6 kHz) so it sits inside the tape.
